Who is this Retreat for?
This Aerial Silks Retreat is designed for intermediate to advanced and higher-level aerialists. We offer a variety of workshops, so there will be plenty of challenges and opportunities to grow, no matter your level. We ask that you feel comfortable and confident in the air on the fabric. You should be able to climb, perform foot knots/locks, and invert in the air. It’s absolutely fine if you occasionally need to use your feet for support. You should also be comfortable with hip keys and being in the air for a few minutes at a time. If you’re unsure whether your level is right, feel free to reach out to us, we’re happy to help!

A week-long aerial retreat at the House of Honey — a hexagonal studio with 10 aerial points, two villas above the sea, every meal cooked from Algarve ingredients, and nothing for you to arrange once you land.

WHO IT'S FOR
Built for intermediate to advanced aerialists. You should be comfortable climbing, tying foot knots/locks, inverting in the air, and holding hip keys — a few minutes aloft shouldn't wear you out. Not sure your level fits? Reach out before you book, happy to help you figure it out.
MEET YOUR COACHES
ACRO.MEL (@acro.mel)
Trained in gymnastics, dance and flying trapeze before discovering aerial in
2010. Certified aerial yoga instructor with professional silks, hoop, trapeze
and corde lisse training from London. Has taught and performed across
Europe, Asia, North America and the Middle East.
SERAH FUCHS / AKRO.MONKEY (@akro.monkey)
Swiss aerialist who found silks in 2016 and never left. Founded Akro Monkey
in 2019, now teaching around 50 students a week. Known for blending
strength, acrobatics and flexibility on the fabric.
THE SETTING
House of Honey: a hexagonal studio with 10 rigging points on an 8.5m/7m structure, engineered and certified for safety first — set in a mature garden above the Algarve coast. A heated saltwater pool and 15-person jacuzzi sit on the terrace above the studio, sea view included. Three villas in the Funchal Hills, 1km from Lagos, host the group — fully equipped, pools included, rooms shared as standard with a limited number of private rooms. Every meal is cooked from local Algarve ingredients, family-style, built for athletes: high protein, low sugar, dietary needs accommodated.

How to Get Here
The studio is located 1km from Lagos. You have international flights into Lisbon and Faro. Depending on your departure city, they are more or less expensive. Generally, within Europe, flights to Faro are cheaper and from the United States Lisbon is cheaper.
From Faro: you can either take a shuttle, a bus or a private taxi/uber to the studio. Generally the price is about 85 euros for private taxi and shuttles are around 12 euros. It’s a 45 minute drive. We can help you arrange group transport if you’re arriving at or around the same time.
From Lisbon: Bus is the best option. It’s about 15 euros and takes 3.5-4 hours to get to the Lagos bus station. From there it’s a 5 minute/5 euro uber to the studio. There are also trains but they take longer and you need to change trains at a station not far from Lagos. We can arrange group pick-ups and help you with transport if you’re arriving around the same time.
